At least 12 Palestinians - including militants and civilians - have been killed in Israeli raids in Gaza, Palestinian medical officials say.
About nine Palestinians - mostly militants - were killed after Israeli tanks moved into Gaza City. One of the civilians was a 12-year-old boy.
Three militants were also killed in clashes in Khan Yunis to the south.
Israel's army confirmed shots had been fired at "terror threats" but said it was checking reports of casualties.

In Khan Yunis, two Islamic Jihad members were killed in clashes with Israeli troops and a Hamas fighter died in an apparent explosive mishandling incident.
Israel confirmed that it had launched military operations on the ground in the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
It said troops were searching areas near the Gaza-Israel border for militants, weapons and tunnels that could be used to attack Israeli positions.
